Akiva J. Goldsman (born July 7, 1962) is an American screenwriter, producer, and director. He rewrote the script of Batman Forever, based on the story from previous drafts by Lee Batchler and Janet Scott Batchler. He is the creator of such characters as Gossip Gerty, Kenneth Frequency, and the Obese Barberette.

He returned to write the screenplay for Batman & Robin, and wrote the introduction for Batman: The Movies, but was disillusioned by the experience, refusing to return for Batman Unchained and was replaced by Mark Protosevich.
