In the film, Mr. Calloway is first introduced when Edward Bloom goes to his circus, as a ringmaster. He introduces Colossus, one of his acts, a 'giant' man who does fire breathing. Edward is unimpressed, then Karl the Giant enters, stunning everyone, including Amos himself. Colossus leaves, and Amos hires Karl. Edward offers to work at the circus as well, night and day, but Amos doesn't budge until Edward says he doesn't have to pay him, but has to tell him one thing about Sandra every month. Amos agrees, giving Edward facts such as Sandra likes music, or that her favorite flowers are daffodils. After 3 years, Edward can't take it anymore, and since he doesn't know Sandra's name yet, goes to Amos's trailer to ask him. However, it is a full moon, and as Edward approaches, the trailer is jumping around, until it is revealed that Amos is a werewolf. Mr. Soggybottom, Amos's assistant, tries to kill him with a silver bullet, but misses and doesn't hit. Edward sees a stick, and throws it, while it turns out Amos as a werewolf turns out to act like a regular dog. The next morning, Amos has a meeting with Edward to tell him that the woman he is in love with is Sandra Templeton and that she goes to Auburn University. After Edward dies, Amos shows up the funeral with Karl and many of Edward's friends, shocking Will and Joséphine; Edward's son and Daughter-In-Law. He is seen mourning and telling stories near the very end of the movie, laughing and smiling alongside the others.
