She appears alongside her husband at the Las Vegas casino and complains that his business will destroy everything. She is then seen praying and giving a talk about the Martians thinking that they are coming to "save" her.
She witnesses their arrival in Nevada and the ensuing massacre. After that, she continues to drink and learns that Art was killed. She leaves to see Byron and tells him that she wants to take a jet to go to Lake Tahoe, but Byron would like to reunite with his family in Washington. Tom Jones joins them as well as a lawyer named Joe Weinberg and a waitress named Cindy and all together go to the airport. Along the way, the gambler abandons them and gets killed, which disappoints Barbara who appreciated him but killed the Martian in return.
There, Barbara takes off with Tom and Cindy and sees Byron who seems to have been killed by the Martians. At the end of the chaos after the defeat of the Martians, the small group of survivors emerge from the caves, surrounded by animals.
