Ben Frankenstein is a supporting character in Tim Burton's 1984 short film Frankenweenie and his 2012 animated feature film of the same name. He is the husband of Susan Frankenstein and the father of Victor Frankenstein.
He is portrayed by Daniel Stern in the original live action short and voiced by Martin Short in the animated version.
Background[]
Mr. Frankenstein is a 40-year old travel agent, friendly and social, who likes to dispense roundabout advice to his son. He is proud of Victor’s accomplishments, but is concerned he doesn’t have any friends other than Sparky. He would prefer his son be more social and encourages him to join the baseball team. Mr. Frankenstein has a playful and loving relationship with his wife, Susan.
