Daena is the tritagonist in Tim Burton's 2001 film, Planet of the Apes. She is a member of the Tek clan, the daughter of Sarai and Karubi, and the love interest of Leo Davidson.
She is portrayed by Estella Warren.

- "Daena" is the name of a Persian goddess. In the first treatment of William Broyles' story, Daena is a beautiful human slave in the city of Derkein, unrelated to Karubi .[1] In the first draft script, Daena has become the loyal daughter of 'Kirubi' (as in the film). After an opening battle between the humans of the Clonfert Confederation and the apes of the Derkein Empire, Daena flees to the Garuda Republic, taking Leo's crashed space-pod with her. Gunnar is Daena's partner, but is sent to his death in the gladiator arena of Derkein.[2]
