Oogie Boogie is the only member of Halloween Town who is seems truly evil. After Lock, Shock and Barrel kidnapped Santa Claus they took him to Oogie Boogie, and the rest of the movie features him torturing him. After Jack Skellington shows up, finally having a moment of sense, Oogie Boogie in surprise and shock battles Jack with his gambling themed battle devices. Jack however, manages to pull a thread on Oogie Boogie, and it is revealed he is but a burlap bag of bugs. His bugs fall into his batch of stew. Many people believe that Oogie was a mob boss before he had died. Some say that when you see his lair that it is casino themed.

Seeing Santa and Sally attempting to flee, Oogie uses his vacuumed jet mouth to suck them towards him.

"What was that you said about luck, rag doll?"-Oogie taunting Sally.
