Florence Norris is a secondary deuteragonist in Mars Attacks!. She is Richie's amnesiac but sympathetic grandmother. Her favorite country song is the solution to be able to overcome the invasion of Martians who hate it.

She is always seen with her family and when Billy-Glenn leaves for Nevada she says goodbye to him by calling him Thomas. Afterwards, she is dropped off by Richie at the retirement home and listens to her favorite country music.
Later, she watches and laughs at the Martians attack on Congress on TV. During the global chaos caused by the Martians, Florence continues to listen to her music through headphones, oblivious to what is going on outside. A Martian machine is then placed behind his head and Richie intervenes just in time. His grandmother then unplugged the headphones and the music sore the Martians who had their heads exploded killing them. She comments that they surely must not like music and Richie uses this medium to annihilate all the aliens.
It's a huge success and he and Florence are rewarded with Taffy, the daughter of the late President Dale. During his speech, Richie thanks for the kindness of his grandmother who smiles behind him as well as for helping him save the whole world.
