“"I flew the giant peach across the ocean. I landed on top of the tallest building in the world. I made it! I’m not the one who’s nothing, you are! And I’m never going back with you! Not me and not the peach!"”
―James standing up to Aunts Sponge and Spiker
James Henry Trotter is the main protagonist of James and the Giant Peach. He is an orphaned boy living with his cruel aunts where he accidentally causes a peach to a gigantic state, causing him to embark on an adventure that will change his life forever.
Paul Terry was bitten by the spider during the shooting of the spider scene (in which Miss Spider is portrayed by an actual spider). He briefly gave up acting before landing the role of Joe Parker in Microsoap.
After his film debut, Terry appeared in the television series Microsoap and later performed as the bass player for indie band Glassapple before becoming a mathematics teacher.
In the book, James didn't transform. Instead, he remained in his normal human form.
