Lord Crane is the superstitious and abusive father of Ichabod Crane and a minor but overarching antagonist in Sleepy Hollow.

He is a superstitious, abusive and violent religious fanatic who murdered his wife for practicing witchcraft, despite the fact she was actually a white witch.

Role in the film[]
During Ichabod's childhood, Lord Crane hated witchcraft and ruled his wife and son with an iron fist. When he finds his wife's magical draw (which was used to protect their son Ichabod), he was furious and horribly murders his wife by placing her in an iron maiden. Ichabod later discovered his mother's corpse and was showered with her blood.
It is unknown if he was arrested and executed for the murder of his wife or if he died sometime afterwards.

- Lord Crane is similar to Judge Claude Frollo from the story of The Hunchback of Notre Dame as both were deeply religious men with a strong hatred for witchcraft.
