Many years later, after the events of the first film, the Deetz family returns to Winter River for Charles's funeral. Delia immediately makes preparations to sell the house and has it fully draped in black cloth during Charles’ wake. She later tells her step-granddaughter Astrid the worst thing Charles ever did to her was buying the house without telling her. After the funeral, Delia signs the paperwork to proceed with selling the house.
