He is an inventive troublemaker with a keen interest in explosives and building unusual gadgets, though less diabolical than previous versions of the character. When he starts going to Nevermore, he wears the school uniform with his striped shirt over his dress shirt.

  • Demolition: Pugsley is skilled at blowing things up and is very knowledgeable on to operate many explosives.

Role in the series[]

Backstory[]

Pugsley was born in 2009 to Gomez and Morticia Addams. He had an older sister named Wednesday Addams who regularly took care of him by torturing him.

At some point, Pugsley was playing with a rocket launcher when he threw a missile at his family car, blowing up the vehicle that, at the moment, was being cleaned by the family butler, Lurch.[2]

Season One[]

Pugsley is first seen trapped in his locker, tied up with an apple shoved in his mouth. When his sister, Wednesday opens the locker, Pugsley falls to the ground on his back. After she removes the apple from his mouth and questions him, she begins to untie him. When Wednesday touches his wrists, she has a vision of Pugsley being bullied by his classmate Dalton and his friends. After her vision, Pugsley asks her if she is okay before leaves him still tied up on the ground.

Trivia[]

  • This version of Pugsley is a stark contrast to the diabolical and demented past versions of himself in most adaptations of The Addams Family.
  • Pugsley often appears with a slightly more serious demeanor than in previous adaptations, but also retains a sweet nature and enjoys playing with Wednesday, though he also suffers from Wednesday's "torture" and is often bullied by other students.
  • The name "Pugsley" is primarily a habitat surname originating from England, meaning "a clearing in the wood" (leah) associated with someone named "Pocg" or "Puda". The surname likely refers to someone from a lost place name in Devon, England.
