Trivia[]

  • He was played by the late Vincent Price which was his last film role three years before his death in 1993. The inventor was supposed to have a much bigger role in the film, but due to Price's illness (Parkinson's disease), his role was made smaller than intended.
  • He is broadly based on Victor Frankenstein, the protagonist of the novel Frankenstein (1818) by Mary Shelley. Similar characters in Tim Burton's work include Victor Frankenstein and Dr. Finkelstein.
  • While Victor Frankenstein and the inventer are simular in their actions and abilites, their personalites are different. Frankenstein hated his creation, while the Inventor treated Edward as a son.
